Community Sauna Network

Full website build, plus domain, hosting and email setup, and ongoing support

The Community Sauna Network helps people across the UK start value-led, not-for-profit community saunas. I built their website from scratch, set up everything behind it, and gave them an application form that brings would-be operators straight to their door. I have looked after the site ever since.

The challenge

The Community Sauna Network needed a proper home online: somewhere to explain what a value-led community sauna is, show where existing saunas are, and let people who want to start their own get in touch. They are a small, not-for-profit operation, so it had to be something the team could run day to day without a developer on call.

The approach

I built the site from the ground up and set up everything behind it: the domain, the hosting, and a Google Workspace with their info@ address, so the whole thing sits under one account they own and control. The centrepiece is an application form for prospective operators that feeds straight into their inbox. Since launch I have kept the site current as the network has grown, refining the copy and the map of locations as they have added saunas.

The result

Since it launched in April 2025, the site has steadily built its search presence, drawing 316 clicks from nearly 9,800 impressions on Google across its first fourteen months and climbing to around fifty clicks a month by mid 2026. It owns its brand search outright, ranking around position two for "community sauna network" with nearly half of those searchers clicking through, and it now surfaces for hundreds of broader "community sauna" searches across the UK. Alongside that, the application form brings a steady flow of enquiries from would-be operators straight into their inbox, which makes the site the natural place to point anyone starting out. The relationship has also started to generate work by referral, with Freddie sharing my work across the network and that turning into new sauna website projects.

Will built our entire site from scratch and set up everything behind it, the domain, hosting and email, so our small team can run it without a developer on call. The application form he built brings new sauna operators straight to our inbox, and he's looked after the site for us ever since. He's been brilliant to work with throughout.
